Kanye West has once again ignited controversy with a series of inflammatory posts on X (formerly Twitter), where he defended Sean “Diddy” Combs and made antisemitic remarks, including praise for Adolf Hitler. The rapper, 47, argued that discussing antisemitic leaders should be “normalized” and declared in a since-deleted post that he would “never apologize” for his hateful statements.
West also called for the release of Diddy, 55, who is currently in jail awaiting trial for alleged federal sex crimes. Diddy was indicted in September on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty, but his request for bail was denied. His trial is set to begin in May.
In his posts, West took aim at X owner Elon Musk, accusing him of stealing his “Nazi swag” after Musk made headlines for a one-armed salute at a public event. Musk dismissed the criticism, stating, “The ‘everyone is Hitler’ attack is sooo tired.” West also downplayed antisemitism, calling it “just some bulls— Jewish people made up.”
The rapper further defended his wife, Bianca Censori, who made headlines for her nearly-nude outfit at the 2025 Grammy Awards. West, who attended the event for the first time in a decade, was nominated for Best Rap Song for “Carnival” from his Vultures 1 album. Despite speculation, sources confirmed that West and Censori were not removed from the event.
West’s recent outburst comes shortly after he announced a new album titled Bully, which he claims was inspired by his 9-year-old son, Saint. However, his online behavior continues to overshadow his music career. This is not the first time West has faced backlash for antisemitic remarks. In October 2022, he posted hateful comments online, including a statement that he was going “death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE,” as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
These actions led to the termination of his partnerships with major brands like Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap. Adidas released a statement condemning West’s behavior, stating, “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect, and fairness.” The company ended its Yeezy collaboration and halted all payments to West.
West was also suspended from X and restricted on Instagram for violating their policies on hate speech. Additionally, former Adidas employees alleged that West praised Hitler and made antisemitic remarks during business meetings. While West denied these claims, he settled with one employee in November 2022 for an undisclosed amount.
As West continues to face criticism for his controversial statements, his actions have raised concerns about the impact of hate speech and the responsibility of public figures to promote tolerance and inclusivity.
